THE BEST!
This is by far the BEST shikakai shampoo! one of my favorite, it really cleans hair so good but gentle and it makes my hair thicker! GOT TO LOVE THAT! I buy it always, can’t be without it;)

excellent for oily and acne prone skin
I bought this product based on the previous review. In the summertime my skin is much more oily and prone to breakouts. This is when my normal skincare just isnt enough. This product really keeps the oilyness under control. Any blemishes that do arise, are gone a lot quicker that normal and it gets rid of the dark spots that are left behind very quickly. I notice my breakouts are almost none. I also love the way my skin looks with this product. It keeps the skin very smooth and healthy looking.

I used this product to see if it would help calm redness on my face. The package says it can be used in the hair as well, so I figured I’d give that a try, too. Wow! My skin felt cool, clear, fresh and I did notice a big decrease in redness. As for my hair..that was the biggest surprise! I made a paste and applied it to my hair and left it on for a half hour. I rinsed it out, lightly shampooed and conditioned my hair, then blew it dry. My hair was bouncy, fresh, and SHINIER than I’ve ever seen it, so easy to manage and looked GREAT. Even my hubby noticed. This stuff smells nasty, looks nastier, but is well worth the effort. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Add water and apply to your face for a clear skin treatment once a week. Voila!

Skin treatment
I use the product on my face. When I use it regularly it helps with breakouts. The powder isn’t as smooth as multani but it does help cleanse just as well.

I love love love neem i had some terrible acne like five days ago and then i got my neem in the mail well today my acne is already clearing up and my face is sooooo smooth and much much less oily you can’t imagine how happy i am with this product….usually when i touch my nose or forehead my fingers are oily but now there’s barely any oil there…..everyone should get this product i haven’t tried it on my hair yet but I’ll update after i try it.
UPDATE:
Neem on my hair was an experience, a very weird experience. First of all over all surfaces in you bathroom before you use this product it’s super messy. Also it’s very bitter i mean extremley bitter so find some way to keep the powder from getting in you mouth while you pour because the taste stays with you even after you brush your teeth several times(lol). So i left this on my hair for i think 15 or 20 mins and it didn’t much to my hair maybe you’ll have a much better experience. My hair felt clean but not as clean as it would with other powders i use.

Natural Strengthening Indian Hair Powder
I used this ppwder twice already in a tea rinse and once so far in my henna herbal hair strengthener and I must say it does strengthen the hair like it says. I do find though that I had to use a lot of cheapie conditioner like Sauve and VO5 when rinsing it out as it tends to harden while it’s on the hair. You should not manipulate your hair while this powder is in your hair because it makes the hair really hard. I recommend saturating your hair and scalp thoroughly with oils like coconut, vatika, or extra virgin olive oil, etc, BEFORE using the powder on your hair. I also recommend that you deep condition with heat with a very moisturizing conditioner for 45 minutes to an hour after washing out with the cheapie conditioners. I believe that once you know how to use these powders, they are amazing. They strengthen the roots and grow the hair.
Great for hair AND face!
I don’t normally write reviews on things, but I have been SO IMPRESSED by both Shakakai and Amla powder that I just had to write a review. A friend of mine let me borrow these powders to try them out and since then everything about the way I care for my hair AND my face has changed! As for my hair, it’s naturally curly and the first time I washed my hair in these powders I noticed right away that my hair was much curlier than normal. I couldn’t figure out why because I hadn’t styled it in any way (just let it air dry.) Later I found out that Amla powder is often used to give extra curl to wavy hair, which is exactly what it did for mine. I also live in a very humid climate and in the past I’ve used many different products to control the frizzies – with pretty limited success. However, when I use these powders I have no problems whatsoever with frizz. What really convinced me that I’ll never go back to “normal” shampoo, though, was the day I didn’t have time to boil my powders (I boil them as a tea and use the strained liquid on my hair). I took a quick shower with my regular shampoo and I didn’t think much about it at the time, but after it dried I realized all that the Shakakai and Amla had been doing for my hair. Rather than the tight curls I was used to by then, my hair was flat, frizzy, and unmanageable. That was my “ah-hah” moment, when I realized then that the S&A powders have been doing for me by themselves what it normally took gels and sprays to accomplish. I’m so impressed!!! By the way, I do not wash my hair with conditioner afterward as Lady Aggie suggested, I leave it in for about 10 minutes and then I rinse with water and it seems to come out fine for me. Perhaps not following with a conditioner is why it works to make my hair curlier? In any case, you can try it both ways and see what works best for you! As for my face…after using both shakakai and amla on my hair a few times I couldn’t help but notice how soft my hands felt afterward, so one day I decided to try using them on my face. I was seriously shocked at the way my skin looked afterward. I’ve heard of “glowing” skin but I’d never seen it on my own face before! My skin looked SO healthy – there was a huge change in my completion after the first wash… I kept looking in the mirror thinking my mind was playing tricks on me. Not only was my face “glowing” but it was super soft and as I’ve continued using it my skin actually seems to be more firm. I have (had!) some pretty deep lines on my forehead and they are so much less noticeable now. And when I look closely at my face there are some areas where I can even see how tight my skin is in places where it used to sag. My acne is starting to clear up and my skin looks so much more healthy. It’s amazing.
One last thing – these powders do seem to be drying on my face if I apply them as a mask and leave it on for too long. Sometimes I’ll even end up with areas on my face that look aggravated if I let it sit for more than 5 minutes or so. So I water the powders down a bit and use them most often as a facial cleanser rather than a mask. I’ve also taken to applying a small amount of jojoba oil to my face after washing which leaves my skin feeling very soft and hydrated. If you deal with super dry skin you should definitely follow up with a really great moisturizer (I recommend jojoba – you can see my review on it, too!) I think it’s definitely worth a try for skin of any type. I’ll definitely never go back to soap again!

Got the Chi-town hair blues
Before using this product my hair was shedding/falling out in large clumps, after two weeks of using Maka Herbal hair oil, my hair is not only soft, but the shedding/and falling out has definitely slowed to almost no lost at all, Not sure if there is any growth at this point, but I am definitely happy that I’m not losing any more strands. I will continue to use this product with hopes that perhaps I will have some growth.
