Wen really tames the forty something frizzies
I started using the Wen Tea Tree Cleansing Conditioner when I saw an infomercial about it and thought it might help with my dry hair and scalp issues. I initially bought a bottle of the regular Wen Cleansing Conditioner from the Wen TV infomercial and while the product was lovely it was less than wonderful for my dry itchy scalp. I had been using Neutrogena T Gel Shampoo which helped but was rather harsh and drying. While I was on Amazon searching for more Wen products I found the Wen Tea Tree Cleansing Conditioner. This Wen product said it would address my dry, itchy scalp and gently cleanse and conditions my dried out hair. Wen delivered on this promise and more! I am coming to the bottom of my fourth 16 ounce bottle and just saw a one gallon size advertised on Amazon. In spite of the expense I think I may just buy the gallon as my hair has never been this silky smooth and easy to style even though I now have a longer, shoulder length bob haircut.
I especially like the fact that I can use the Wen as a leave in conditioner if I want to simply by doing a second wash and partial rinse out at the end of my luxurious Wen Tea Tree shower. Unlike other leave in conditioners I have used in the past, Wen does not leave the same heavy residue that interferes with my final styling product. It only makes my styling product work better and my blow dry session no longer turns into a scorched earth session! Wen also smell marvelous due to the Tea Tree Oil. The regular Wen Cleansing Conditioner also has a nice light scent. I only wish Wen was easier to find and purchase. Excellent for dandruff
Bought this to battle my husband’s itchy, flaky scalp [dandruff] and was NOT disappointed! After only a couple uses, his symptoms improved, and now he is wearing all the black shirts he wants to… without constantly brushing away white dandruff flakes. On a recent business trip, he used regular shampoo, and the dandruff returned. But once home again, and using WEN Tea Tree, both the itching and flakes are gone! This is NOT a CURE, but the best treatment we have found – and it’s so easy to use.

A skeptic won over
A shampoo that doesn’t lather? Will it really change my hair? I thought I’d try this product and end up pushing it to the back of the cabinet with all of the other products that would supposedly change my hair, my face and my world. The product hasn’t changed my world, but it has done everything its marketers claim. The no lather thing takes some getting used to and you’ll have to resist the urge to use more product because subconsciously you equate more shampoo to more lather. Not gonna happen so don’t waste the product.

Despite product instructions, you don’t need a lot, so at this price point the product is significantly more cost-effective than the brands I normally buy from my hair stylist at her salon. I purchased the Hair Care Set and I am very please with all 3 products.

This is an informational product. Yikes! I know what you’re thinking. I didn’t want it to work because really, I don’t see myself as the type of gal that uses those products. But if it works, it works. And this one does.

I love my hair again!
I ordered this product after reading all the great reviews (and the bad). I have thick shoulder length curly hair and have used my share of shampoos and frizz free products. I was excited when my order came in and used it that day. All the probducts smelled amazing. The Tea Tree conditioner tingled my scalp but the smell was refreshing. OMG! My hair was amazing after just one use. I let it dry naturally after applying the styling cream. It was so soft and my hair dried into these beautiful ringlets without any frizz. My husband noticed the difference right away and I even got asked who did my hair because they wanted curls like mine. I’m now in love with this product! You do have to make sure you rinse your hair well to get all the product out, but well worth the effort. I haven’t tried the oil yet, but I ordered it and can’t wait to try that out too!

Beyond the Smell
This oil has somewhat of a pine smell to it, but that is the only con I can think of. I have coarse, kinky hair that seems to soak up oils on contact, and I noticed that as soon as I began using this oil, I no longer had a dry/ easily flaky scalp. I used the fig oil before this tea tree, and there was a notable difference between the two. It also tingles when I put it on at night, very relaxing. If you can handle the smell, it’s worth a non itching scalp. It works great.

Relieves Scalp Itch and Moisturizes
I love this oil! I have contact dermatitis due to some unknown source (probably a chemical I use at work). Since I can’t avoid what I can’t identify, I have to treat my symptoms. Believe me I have spent hundreds trying various shampoos and conditioners to relieve the itching. As soon as I placed a dropperful on my scalp, the itch was gone. It really does soak in and will not end up on your pillow cases if you don’t over do it. I use this regularly twice a week along with the tea tree cleansing conditioner daily. If you have tried everything to relieve your itching scalp try this.

Can’t Be Without It
Like a lot of other reviewers of Wen products, I’ve been moaning and complaining about the cost of this product line. Well, let me tell you how I finally learned my lesson:

I’d been using this haircare line for about 6 months. I had started with the combo offered in the infomercial & moved onto the Tea Tree about 4 months ago, after reading reviews that it is the best “flavor” for my hair type (very dry hair with oily/itchy scalp that tends towards dandruff). I’ve loved Wen since about week 2 with the product due to the following: (a) my scalp issues were resolved, (b) my hair seemed healthier after about a week, (c) I had stretched my last cut & color out to 10 weeks since the color still seemed shiney (I have jet black hair & my color is added only to warm up the tones from a blue-black to a brown/red-black – there isn’t that much of a difference between my natural hair color and my color-treated color)& my ends looked fine. However, a few weeks ago, as I neared the bottom of my latest bottle of Wen Tea Tree, I started questioning how incredibly expensive it was after I realized how quickly the bottle had been used…so I didn’t order a new bottle before I ran out.

I decided to go back to my old Aveda Color Conserve line in order to save some money. Within 2 days, (a) my itchy scalp was back AND (b) the shine was gone in my hair color, leaving it dull and lifeless looking AND (c) you could see exactly where the new hair growth ended and the color-treated hair began! It was disgusting! I immediately ordered a new bottle of Wen Tea Tree & scheduled a hair appt. I just hope that the Wen gets here by the time my appt comes around…

I guess the bottom line is that you have to consider not only the fact that you get both cleanser & conditioner in one product AND that your hair will look better, but also that you will be able to stretch out the time between cut/color appts. I used to have to go every 6 weeks or so, but could stretch it to about 10 with Wen. Each appt is about $200 for me, so that’s how I’m justifying continuing with this product.

Great Product!
I love this product! The scent isn’t for everyone but I find it very invigorating in the morning! And my hair looks great – my stylist even asked me what I was using

A MUST-HAVE FOR THE BEST HAIR EVER
I have been using WEN for years. These are truly amazing products. Can you imagine thoroughly cleansing and conditioning your hair in one single swipe? It sounds too good to be true, right? WRONG! Chaz Dean accomplished something others said was impossible to do…he created cleansing conditioning products without all the bad stuff, including phosphates, harsh chemicals and other things that are not that good for hair. Most of the ingredients in his products are derived from natural sources such as Rosemary Oil, Aloe Vera, lot of herb oils, etc. I could write here all those wonderful ingredients but it would take too much space. The best way you can find out about his products is to try one. For dry hair, use the Fig; for scalp issues, try the Tea Tree; for normal hair the best is Sweet Almond Mint. I adore the Tea Tree because I have a dry, itchy scalp problem.

He has come out with some new products but I bought so many of his earlier products that the only one I have bought since is that wonderful Tee Tree.

I called Chaz Dean’s Studio not long ago inquiring about a facial cleanser. The lady I spoke with said all of them use his Body Cleanser. Hurray! He’s done it again.

Chaz is a very creative person. I absolutely beleive that once he puts his mind to something he’ll get it done. He had many critics when he began creating his products. I would imagine that when his critics found out about his success, they probably were like unhappy dogs – tucking their tails between their legs, whimpering.

He has a lot of famous friends such as Halle Berry, Chloris Leachman, Paula Abdul, Tippi Hedren (famous star of Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller movies,)just to name a few. Actually he is a celebrity in his own rite.

You’ll never know until you buy one and give it a good test. Just remember that you don’t treat this product like shampoo – it doesn’t foam. But you’ll love the difference. It feels creamy/silky, smells clean and your scalp tingles like you can feel it working. One of the many benefits of using his cleansing conditioners is that if you have your hair colored, there is no fading and the color will last longer. You’ll save money since you won’t have to go to your salon as often. Plus all his products have healing properties. If you have split ends, have them cut off, then use one of his products. No more split ends.

There is a special way to use WEN products. Instructions and tips are enclosed with the order. If you order one (or more) and the instructions are not in the box, google his many web sites and call them. I’m sure they’ll be happy to help you out.

People of color love these products because frizz and tight curls transform into smoothe, soft curls. If you want straight hair, no problem.
